Need a letter of recommendation?

I am always happy to write letters of recommendation for students. Before requesting a letter using the form below, please read the following instructions carefully.

What makes a strong letter? It is always a good idea to think carefully about who you request as your letter writers. The best letters come from professors and/or mentors who know you well. If you took a class of mine but never came to office hours or contributed in class, my letter will be fairly short and only able to mention your grade in my course. If this applies to you, please consider whether or not this will help you in your applications before requesting a letter.

What do you need from me? When writing letters for students, I always ask for the following things:

  • the list of schools you’re applying to, their deadlines, and methods for submitting the letter (usually a link)

  • your transcript

  • a short paragraph stating your career goals

All of these items can be submitted in the form below.

Other questions? Feel free to email me directly if you have any other questions about this process.

Thanks, and good luck with your applications!
